Welcome and Thanks!
As the Four Homes of Mercy begin its 74th year of service, the residents, staff and board extend their deepest thanks to you for all you have done through the years to enable this remarkable ministry to continue!
Honoring Mothers!

Suleiman, age 10 needs medical care and safety. His father is abusive, his mother works outside the home, so she cannot always protect her son. Nor can the family afford the medicine he needs for his muscular dystrophy. Their home is not wheelchair accessible, but Suleiman cannot walk. Besides medical care and loving attention at the Homes, Suleiman has tutoring and educational video games to stimulate his mind until we can find a school willing to accept this bright, but wheelchair-bound child.

Amir, 19, spent his days at home curled up in a crib, unable to talk, ignored by his siblings, and seemingly indifferent to his plight. Somehow, his mother heard of the accomplishments of the Homes with similar children. Barely daring to hope, she brought him several years ago.
Now, he responds with joyful smiles to people around him. His limbs, no longer constricted, allow him to have a new view of the world. His mother, who visits regularly, is thrilled.

Huneida, 15, insisted on growing in size but not in the ability to care for herself. Her mother's health problems, including a badly damaged spine, prevented her from caring appropriately for the daughter she adores. She brought Huneida to the Homes several years ago. To her delight, she has blossomed, now engaging happily in all activities, including learning to write!
Your support has enabled us to give these gifts -- for the children, health and expanded, more satisfying worlds; for the mothers, the blessing of seeing their children blossom.

About us
We are unique in our ability to respond to the needs of residents by providing them with the resources they need to maximize their abilities. We care for the neurologically impaired — whether the source of the impairment was a car accident, a medical condition such as stroke, or birth defect. For each of our residents, who range in age from 4 to 96, the Homes provides specialized treatment including physical, occupational and recreational therapy. For most of our residents, the Homes is their home. Some have lived here for decades. Whenever possible, the Homes fosters and supports the residents’ continuing ties and visits to their families.
For many challenged individuals in the outlying communities, the Homes provides assessments, training of family members of how best to care for their loved one at home, and physical and occupational therapy.
For the next generation of Palestinian professionals in physical therapy, occupational therapy and nursing, working together with Bethlehem and Al-Quds Universities, the Homes now provides on-site training and experience.
Katherine Siksek’s vision of service continues in ever-widening ways, implemented by those of many skills and nationalities. We invite you to join us!
